Job Overview:
The Associate Chief Financial Officer and Assistant Treasurer provides senior-level leadership and strategic oversight for the College’s financial, auxiliary, and administrative operations. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, the Associate Chief Financial Officer and Assistant Treasurer is responsible for ensuring efficient, effective, and compliant operational systems, processes, and practices that support the institution’s mission and strategic priorities. This position partners closely with campus leaders to streamline operational processes, adopt technology tools, strengthen internal controls, and enhance service delivery across the College.

Job Responsibilities:
Strategic Financial and Administrative Leadership
- Partner with the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer on operational planning, policy development, and implementation of institutional initiatives.
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight for key business and operational functions, including accounting, finance, procurement, auxiliary services, risk management, real estate and property management, administrative systems, and reporting.
- Oversee vendor relationships and contract negotiations; ensure compliance with institutional policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices in higher education.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop staff; foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and service excellence.
- Serve as a liaison to campus departments, providing guidance on business processes, procedures, and operational planning; training and support; and collaborate on process improvement initiatives.
Institutional Risk Management
- Apply risk assessment techniques to identify institutional risks and lead efforts to mitigate them through education, training, and risk transfer programs.
- Market, negotiate, and implement commercial insurance coverage for liability, property, builder’s risk, and other specialty coverage categories unique to higher education.
- Develop and coordinate business continuation for the campus community with senior leaders, committees, and staff professionals.
Budget and Financial Data Analytics
- Support budget development, financial analysis, management reporting, and ongoing monitoring in collaboration with the finance and accounting team.
- Direct adoption of emerging technologies to administrative operations and systems.
- Develop and monitory performance against benchmark standards and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Continuous Improvement and Compliance
- Lead continuous process improvement efforts to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and customer service while strengthening internal controls.
- Develop training and educational programs and platforms to ensure institutional success; apply quality assurance techniques to confirm understanding.
- Lead communication and training efforts for the finance, risk management, auxiliary operations, and other topics for the Treasurer’s Office.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in business administration, finance, or a related field and/or a finance, accounting, or business process certification (CPA, CMA, BPM) preferred.
- A minimum of seven to ten (7–10) years of progressively responsible experience in business operations, finance, or administrative leadership, preferably within higher education or a similarly complex organization.
- Demonstrated experience in management of institutional finance and administration, budget and forecasting, fund accounting, risk management, procurement, and process improvement.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar products and enterprise administrative systems.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with senior leadership, faculty, staff, students, trustees, and external partners.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong service orientation.
